Quick + Easy Irish Guinness Bread (No Rising!!!)

Ingredients

Ingredients needed

  • Guinness Stout – Or, any Irish stout or stout beer.

All Purpose Flour

Baking Powder

Quick Cooking Oats

Brown Sugar

Kosher Salt

  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats (+ 1 Tablespoon for topping)
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces Guinness

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350-degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, oats, brown sugar and salt).
  3. Slowly add the Guinness and mix until just combined.
  4. Coat a loaf pan with cooking spray, and pour batter in.
  5. Sprinkle the top with some additional oats.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until a knife inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool for 15 minutes in the pan, then remove to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  8. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  9. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, 1/2 cup oats, brown sugar and salt.
  10. Slowly add the Guinness and mix until just combined.
  11. Coat a loaf pan with cooking spray, and pour the batter in. Sprinkle the top with an additional tablespoon of oats.
  12. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until a knife inserted comes out clean.
  13. Allow to cool for 15 minutes in the pan, then remove to a cooling rack to cool completely.
