Meat Hook Barbecue Sauce

Meat Hook Barbecue Sauce

Serves3 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon mustard powder, such as Colman’s
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a non-reactive saucepan, bring to a simmer, and simmer gently for 1  1/2 hours. Remove from the heat and let cool for 45 minutes.
  2. Stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, the sauce will keep for up to one month. Freezing is not encouraged.
