Meat Hook Barbecue Sauce
Serves3 cups
Ingredients
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon mustard powder, such as Colman’s
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a non-reactive saucepan, bring to a simmer, and simmer gently for 1 1/2 hours. Remove from the heat and let cool for 45 minutes.
- Stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, the sauce will keep for up to one month. Freezing is not encouraged.
