- 1 tablespoon Sriracha/Chili Garlic Sauce Adds heat; adjust to taste
- ½ teaspoon White Pepper Mild spice; black pepper can be a substitute
For Thickening
- 2 tablespoons Cornstarch To thicken sauce
- ¼ cup Water For slurry
Instructions
- How to Make Slow Cooker Asian Pulled Pork
- Prep Pork: Cut the pork shoulder into four sizable chunks and place them in a resealable bag.
- Marinate: Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, Sriracha, and white pepper into the bag. Massage well. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Cook: Transfer marinated pork into the slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 8-10 hours or HIGH for 5-6 hours until tender.
- Shred: Remove pork from the slow cooker and shred using two forks. Cover with foil to keep warm.
- Simmer Sauce: Strain cooking liquid into a saucepan. Simmer and thicken with cornstarch slurry until glossy.
- Combine: Return shredded pork to the slow cooker and pour thickened sauce over. Toss to coat evenly.
- Serve: Enjoy your pulled pork over rice, in lettuce wraps, or in steamed buns.
