Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 4 slices bread
  • 3 cups grated cheese Cheddar, Mozzarella, Gruyere

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter then add the crushed garlic and dried oregano. Set aside.
  2. Grate the cheese and mix to combine. Slice the bread into thick slices.
  3. Distribute the cheese between half of the slices of bread then sandwich with the remaining pieces of bread.
  4. Brush the outside of the bread liberally with the garlic butter.
  5. In a large pan, skillet or griddle set over medium heat, cook the sandwiches butter side down. I like covering the pan with a lid to allow the cheese to melt faster. Cook the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on the one side.
  6. Brush the other side with the remaining garlic butter then gently flip over and cook for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown on both sides with the cheese completely melted inside.
  7. Remove from the pan, allow to rest for 1 minute then slice and serve.
